I'm sorry for your great loss here. Vivian was a gentle and wise woman. I remember 20 years ago when she would visit my mother-in-law, Marianna Grieco at her home along with three to four other great friends who would meet once a week for a visit. And this was going on for years even before I met my mother-in-law. My husband, Dean, and I would set the table for them for coffee and dessert in the afternoon. I admired this very much sensing the care for one another like real sisters. Six women gathering at one place to enjoy seeing each other and discussing family, issues of the day, and all that, agreeing or disagreeing but amiable at the same time. When my husband and I moved back to Methuen after his mother passed away, that "family scenario" had ended, of course. We would keep in touch with these women through phone calls on holidays or sending cards. In the last ten years, either Vivian would call us at our home to see how we were doing or when the occasion came up we could contact her to see how she was doing. She tried to keep a positive note on things while enduring much pain each day with her health. It's amazing that she lived as long as she did with it. Some people would give up. Vivian was a fine example of courage, strength, and appreciation for living. I had recently sent her an Easter card this year and was wondering how things were with her. My good friend called me up and told me the news of her passing. Another part of my husband's great era has died. He passed away last year after our 28 years of marriage together. He lived a full life as well. Vivian, you had beauty inside and out with your love and care, you believed in fairness for everyone, you've displayed courage and strength to carry on, and a sharp, intelligent, thinking mind to go with it. I admired these fine attributes and I will not forget you. You are now with your husband and son and are finally at peace, dear admirable lady. Love, Laura

I'm so sorry about Vivian. She was my mother, Ann Augusta best friend. She was a gentle loving woman who was very good to my mother. After her son died i sent her a mothers day card ever y year to remind her of how special she is. She lived a long wonderful life and i am glad she touched or lives. She is finally at rest with all those she loved and went before her. With deepest sympathy, Maryanne and sharon cardillo

I worked at the Andover Senior Center for 16 & 1/2 yrs. I assisted Vivian by arranging transportation to doctor's appointments, among other things. I immediately fell in love with her the day I met her. I am Italian, and Vivian reminded me of my grandmother. There were rules regarding transportation, but I bent all of them when it came to Vivian.I retired 3yrs ago, and out of all the elderly I assisted, she was the one I missed the most. She was truly, a very sweet lady..
