Rosa (Galvagno) Ardizzone, 93, of Lawrence passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at Halcyon House Nursing Home in Methuen. Born in Biancavilla, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Placido and Concetta Galvagno.
Mrs. Ardizzone was raised and educated in Sicily and settled in Lawrence in 1956. She was a seamstress and worked at Grieco Brothers until her retirement. Rosa loved to sew, cook, and enjoyed large Sunday dinners with her family. Being surrounded by her children and grandchildren is what made her most happy.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Salvatore Ardizzone; son, Vincent Ardizzone; brother, Salvatore Galvagno.
She is survived by her son, Placido “Pat” Ardizzone and his wife, Cindi Ardizzone of Windham, NH; sister, Isabella Grasso of Fitzwilliam, NH; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ardizzone of North Andover; grandchildren, Lisa Ardizzone Hauze and her husband, Brian Hauze of Lawrence, Jason Ardizzone and his companion, Tara Wilson of Andover; great-grandchildren, Colby Ardizzone, Kaylin Ardizzone, and Elizabeth Hauze. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Entombment will follow at St. Mary – Immaculate Conception Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosa’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
