Marie I. Garafolo

Marie I. Garafolo, 76, passed away peacefully Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. Marie was born November 3, 1941 in Lawrence, the daughter of the late Charles and Antonia (Celia) Garafolo.

She honorably served in the United States Army and after graduating from Northern Essex Community College with honors “Summa-Cum-Laude” was employed as a radiation technician for the Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA where she retired after eighteen years. Marie served in the Civil Air Patrol, was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), a longtime member of the Women’s Guild of the Saint Patrick’s Church in Pelham, NH, and was a devoted communicant of the Catholic Church.

Marie enjoyed time with family and friends, volunteering for St. Patrick Church, traveling and dining out. She was a Christian who gave of herself, a beautiful soul who was loved and will be dearly missed.

Marie is survived by her brother, Charles Garafolo of Alaska; her God Daughter Maria Erna of Salem, NH, many cousins and nieces, friends and associates, including her dear friend, Diana Schneider of Nashua, NH.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to visiting hours Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home 126, Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 AM followed by a burial at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
