Augusta Jean-Louis

Augusta Jean-Louis, 77, of North Andover formerly of Methuen passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Jeremie, Haiti and was the daughter of late Adelaide Leguerre, and was the widow of Nicholas Dorvelus.

Augusta came to America in 2004, settling in Methuen and North Andover. Augusta was a loving, caring, and exceptional mother who did everything for her children. She was a very strong woman even through the loss of five children. She worked extremely hard to make sure her family was safe, was a wonderful cook, and loved to make sure everyone had enough to eat. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Elsie Dorvelus of Port-Au- Prince, Haiti, Marie Gabrielle Felix of Methuen, Tania Jean- Louis- Berneaud of North Andover, and Shirley Jean- Louis of Long Island, NY. She also leaves her nineteen grandchildren. Augusta was predeceased by five children, Marie Michelle Dorvelus, Bernadette Dorvelus, Manoucheka Dorvelus, Dorthon Dorvelus, and Yves Dorvelus.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Thursday May 4, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Friday May 5, 2017 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
