Leno Lucas, 91, of Methuen passed away peacefully on February 16, 2017 after a short illness. Born in New York, NY in 1925, he was the son of Michael and Antonetta Lucas.
After graduating from the Brooklyn High School for specialty trades, he enlisted as a WWII Merchant Marine and later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. In 1952, he moved to Lawrence and married his wife of 47 years, Raffaella (Mazzaglia) Lucas. They lived in Methuen until her passing in 1999.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Fink and her husband David of Windham, NH; his son, Leonard Lucas and his wife Susan of Boston, MA; grandchildren, Hillary Fink of Brooklyn, NY and Andrew Fink of Washington, D.C.; and his devoted companion of twelve years, Leslie Sardo of Merrimack, NH.
Throughout his life he worked as an automobile mechanic, pattern maker, machinist, and sign carver. In retirement, he volunteered at the Lawrence General Hospital. His favorite pastimes were woodworking, furniture-making, golf, skiing, dancing, and traveling.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St. in Methuen. His service will follow the visiting hours at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
