Gaetana E. (Autiello) Polizzotti, 99, of Methuen, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Vincenza (Locascio) Autiello.
Mrs. Polizzotti was raised and educated in Lawrence and lived there for the greater part of her life before moving to Methuen. Gaetana worked for many years as a seamstress at Grieco Brothers. Her family was her most prized possession, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed all Boston sport teams, playing cards, cooking traditional Italian meals, and most of all spending as much time possible with her loved ones. Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was her main priority. She was always going out of her way to take care of her family and wanted nothing but happiness for them. She was also a member of St. Rita’s Sodality.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gaetano G. Polizzotti; and brother, Samuel Autiello.
Gaetana is survived by her sons, Dr. Richard S. Polizzotti of Milford, NJ, and Dr. David M. Polizzotti and his wife, Tina of Yardley, PA; and daughter, Barbara A. Polizzotti of Plaistow, NH. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 3rd at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Entombment will follow at Eternal Light Memorial, 23 Pond Street, Salem, NH.
