Elaina P. Nye

Elaina P. (Milia) Nye, 70, of North Andover passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Sutton Hill Nursing Home.  She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Blanche (Foucher) Milia.

Elaina was raised in Lawrence and graduated from St. Mary's High School. She worked at Western Electric and then later for ABC Bus Company driving handicapped children, where she was adored by all of the children and parents.  Elaina enjoyed many of her summers renting a cottage at Salisbury Beach with her best friend of forty-nine years, Cynthia Cobbett, and both of their families.  She enjoyed music and dancing which lead to meeting her loving husband, Raymond W. Nye.
 
Elaina is survived by her husband, Raymond W. Nye; her daughters, Pamela Distefano and her husband Andrew, Julie Lefebre and her husband Shawn all from Salem, NH; her son John Ruggiero from Methuen; and Wayne R. Nye and his wife Darlene of Stockport, OH; her sisters, June Karageanis and her husband William of Salem, NH, Linda Hale of Salem, MA and Charlene DiMauro of Methuen.  She also leaves five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she loved very much. 
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen.  Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St. Michael Church, 196 Main St., North Andover.  Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
