Charles A. Palermo, 77, of Lawrence, passed away Monday, January 10, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Gaetana “Gae” (Piazza) Palermo. Charlie was born March 8, 1940 in Boston, MA, the son of the late Nicholas and Rose (Lovasco) Palermo. He was raised in the North End of Boston, having attended local schools. Charlie honorably served in the United States Army National Guard and was awarded the Marksman Rifle Badge and Expert (Carbine) Badge. He was employed for over forty years as a construction foreman with the Walsh Brothers Construction Company in Cambridge, MA.
Always a fun guy to be around, Charlie loved sports. Talking sports, watching sports, and critiquing them. Our New England teams brought out his animated side. He loved music and dancing and having a good time. But Charlie was also a hard worker all his life. He was a devoted husband and great father who cared for his family from the time he was a young boy. He would also do anything for you to help you anyway he could. A loyal friend and family man, Charlie will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife, Gae Palermo of Lawrence, four sons, Richard Palermo of Lawrence, David Palermo of Plainville, Michael Palermo of Foxboro, and James Palermo of Lawrence. He also leaves behind his two grandchildren, Charles and Stacey; brother, Nicholas Palermo, Jr.; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Monday January 15, 2017 from 4:00-8:00PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.
