Ann M. (Sapienza) Riccio, 92, of Lawrence passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Mary Immaculate Nursing Center. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Biagio Sapienza and Santa (Samperi) Sapienza, and the widow of William A. Riccio.
Ann was raised and educated in Lawrence. She worked as a stitcher at Grieco Brothers for thirty years. She loved to cook, entertain, and spend time with family. She was a lifelong parishioner at Holy Rosary Church and was a member of St. Rita’s Sodality of the parish.
She is survived by her children, David Riccio and his wife Barbara of Derry, NH and Gail LaCroix of Lawrence; four grandchildren; sisters, Angelina Richard of Lawrence, Sarah Gosselin of Hampstead, NH, and Sandra Keefe of Atkinson; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, William Riccio; sister, Grayce Grieco; and brother, Gaetano Sapienza.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 9 to 11 am at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral service will take place at the conclusion of the visiting hours at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
