Yvonne Denis

Salem, NH - Yvonne (Vaillancourt) Denis, 91, of Salem, NH passed away on July 13, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Yvonne was born in Old Town, ME on May 4, 1927 to the late Thomas and Louise (King) Vaillancourt.

Yvonne, along with her late husband, Walter, owned and operated King Size Sandwich Shop on Broadway in Lawrence for many years. More recently she was employed at Holy Family Hospital in housekeeping for that past twenty years. Yvonne met Walter Denis while he was stationed in Bangor, ME and were married in 1943. They settled in Lawrence, MA to begin their family and had six children.

The widow of the late Walter Denis, Yvonne is survived by her four children, Veronica LaTorre of Salem, NH, Stanley Denis of Haverhill, MA, William Denis and his wife, Peggy of Maine, and Brenda Gulbronson of Wisconsin. Also among her survivors are her brother, Francis Vaillancourt of Old Town, ME, now the last of eleven children; her eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Yvonne was predeceased by her daughter, Virginia Denis and her son, Walter Denis, Jr.

Family and friends may call on Thursday July 19, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.

A funeral mass will be offered on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10 AM at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
