Yole A. Lakos

Yole A. (Pietrantoni) Lakos, 94, of Salem NH, passed peacefully on January 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving sons.  She was born in the North End in Boston and was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Giovanna (Ranno) Pietrantoni.

Raised and educated in Boston, MA, Yole later moved with her family to Medford, MA. She was the loving wife of the late Nicholas T. Lakos with whom she shared forty-seven wonderful years in marriage and raised their family in Billerica, MA. She worked as a buyer for the Hanscom Field Airforce Base for thirty-two years, retired to Cape Cod and then Nokomis, FL, ultimately spending the last fifteen years in Salem, NH. She was an active member in the Greek Orthodox church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and working the festivals. Yole’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She adored her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed socializing with friends through bowling, playing cards, arts and crafts, cooking classes, and dance. She was also an avid reader.

Yole is Survived by sons, John and wife Kathleen of Londonderry, NH, Christopher and wife Concetta of Salem, NH, Stephen of Billerica, and Paul and wife Danielle of Andover, MA; stepson, James and wife Tanya of Micca, FL; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings: John, Norma and Cynthia Pietrantoni, Edda Carbone, Yvonne Patterson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Yole was predeceased by brothers, Rudolph, Aldo and George Pietrantoni; half-brother, Frank P. Clements; and stepson, Thomas Lakos.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation hours between 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be celebrated Friday, February 5th at 11:00 AM at St. Constantine and Helen Church, 71 Chandler Road, Andover, MA. All are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, MA.
