William W. Wakeham Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Wakeham. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family following a seven year battle with cancer. Bill lived his life to the fullest and was a tremendously happy and positive person. He set an example for all of us.

Born in Medford, Massachusetts and growing up in Weymouth and Lynnfield, Bill loved playing hockey and baseball. He was an avid cyclist, skier, kayaker, and hiker. Nature photography was his passion.

Bill will be dearly missed and is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Robin; sisters, Wendy McPherson and Susan Boudreault; nieces and nephews, Joe Boudreault, Todd McPherson, Michelle (Boudreault) Kelly, Andrea (McPherson) Nettleship, Matt Boudreault, Glen Boudreault, John McPherson, and Craig McPherson; all of their spouses; and many, many great-nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his parents, William and Jean Wakeham.

A lovable and caring person, Bill made friends wherever he went with his open and cheerful personality. He smiled almost constantly, even in the toughest of times. Although our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the time we shared. He brought a lot of joy into our lives, and he will be missed so much by so many.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a celebration of Bill’s life to be held 12 pm – 3 pm on July 10, 2022 at the Atkinson Resort and Country Club in Atkinson, NH.

Memorial donations in Bill’s name may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center (giving.massgeneral.org/donate). Enough cannot be said about the dedicated, compassionate staff or the outstanding care Bill received. Alternatively, donations may be made to CareDimensions hospice services (caredimensions.org/giving). They took exceptional care of Bill during his final days. Truly extraordinary.
