Tribute

William C. “Bill” Rastello, Sr., 81, a longtime resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in the company of his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Geraldine M. “Jerrie” Rastello.

Born and raised in Lawrence, the son of the late Carmine and Margaret (Grasso) Rastello, Bill attended Lawrence High School and soon after enlisted in the United States Army. Upon his return home, he began to work in the auto industry and enjoyed a long career eventually opening his own car cleaning business.

Bill’s greatest love was his family. He enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He was the proud owner of Bill’s Auto Cleaning, which he operated for thirty-five years, and as a result, developed many friendships in the car business over the years. He had a passion for cars and would love to tell stories of his '56 Mercury.

He and his wife Jerrie were members of St Monica Church in Methuen where they attended mass weekly. His affable personality and infectious laugh were a welcomed presence at any social gathering. He loved traveling to the White Mountains in NH and later on to Old Orchard Beach, ME. He enjoyed playing 45s and pool and loved quoting such movies as The Godfather, Goodfellas, and Scarface to name a few. He loved to laugh and his many silly sayings will be missed, but not soon forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his entire family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bill is predeceased by sisters, Veronica L. and her husband Gerald Lee Beck, and Anna Rastello.

In addition to his wife Jerrie, Bill will be sorely missed by his children, Sharon-Lee Rastello of Methuen, MA, and William C. Rastello, Jr. and his wife Heather E. (Hewett) Rastello of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Brianna, Brandon, Madison, and Ava; brother, Bernard T. and his wife Emily Rastello of Methuen; several nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Marie Croteau.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation hours between 4:00–7:00 PM on Monday, March 29, 2021, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen.
