William Joseph Emery

With a very heavy heart, the family of William Joseph Emery, 83, of Seabrook, NH, is sharing the news of his death. Joe passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 surrounded by his family at his home.

Joe was born on June 23, 1935 in Lawrence, MA, to the late Emanuele and Maria (Greco) Emery. He attended Lawrence High School, Bentley University, Suffolk University, and received a Master’s degree from Northeastern University. Joe married his high school sweetheart, Claire in 1958. Together they raised a family and proudly watched them grow and start their own families. Joe worked at Raytheon as a financial accountant for thirty-five years before retiring.

He enjoyed being an avid athlete, most especially enjoyed swimming and running, travelling with his wife twice a year, and the Caribbean islands.

Joe is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Claire M. (Barden) Emery of Seabrook, NH; son, William Emery, Jr. and his wife, Sherry of E. Hampstead, NH; and daughter, Judith David and her husband, Edward of Seabrook, NH; brother, Ernest Emery and his wife, Irene of Seabrook, NH; grandchildren, Ryan Emery and his wife, Chelsea, Lauren Emery, Jacqueline Wyka, and Adam Wyka; sister-in-law, Helen Salerno and her husband, Joseph of Salem, MA.

Additionally, there are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will undoubtedly miss him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to the Parkinson Foundation-Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 14th at 9:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
