William T. Douglas

April 15, 1944 ~ May 17, 2020 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

William T. “Billy” Douglas, age 76, a resident of Methuen, MA passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Lowell General Hospital. He was born on April 15, 1944, at University Hospital in Baltimore, MD to the late Sylvia Mae Martin and Lux Thunderbird Douglas.

Billy, as he was lovingly referred to by his friends and family, was a kind and gentle spirit who loved the Lord and his “Bert,” his wife for twenty-two years! They were married on June 21, 1997. Billy was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone he saw in need. He would be the first in line to assist elders and children alike from carpooling around his grandchildren and their friends to making grocery runs for his elder friends. Billy was an active member of Andover Baptist Church in Andover, MA, where he joyfully sang in the men's gospel choir and participated in the men's ministry.

Billy volunteered across many of the ministries, from helping to serve food at the Annual MLK Day Celebration to working with the Social Committee to help set up and break-down for the annual Salisbury Beach church outing. Billy loved serving so much that he created his own ministry, whereby, during fellowship time he would go from table to table offering to clear plates, cups, and anything else left on the tables (you had to guard your food because he moved fast and furious) so others didn't have to worry about it. He also emptied trash barrels and delighted in making dumpster runs. Billy just loved to help out his church family and others, this was his calling and service to the Lord.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant….Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”, Matthew 25:21.
