Wadad (Hajjar) Hamuae, 92, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 22, 2018. She was born in Kab-Elias, Lebanon, and was the daughter of the late Nemir and Julia (Chouairy) Hajjar.
“Khalto” Wadad immigrated to the U.S. as a young bride in 1953 with the love of her life, Joe. She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MA and devout parishioner at St. George’s Orthodox Church. Joe’s life long career at Pepsi Cola Co. allowed her the freedom to spend time sharing all of her love with so many of her nieces and nephews. With her green thumb, she grew the most amazing garden. She adored her pet bird, Polly more than anything. She was never without a smile. Her favorite thing to do was call home to Lebanon and chat with every cousin.
Wadad was predeceased by the love of her life, Joseph F. Hamuae.
She is survived by her sister, Jeannette Hamaoui of Methuen; sister in-law, Samira Hajjar of Kab Elias, Lebanon; nephews and nieces, James Hamaoui of Salem, NH, John Cook and Odette Cook of Salem, NH, Yvette Hajjar of Methuen, Russ Tuney and Randa Tuney of Wilmington, NC. She also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Lebanon.
