Vincenzo Tagliaferri

September 6, 2018

Tribute

Vincenzo Tagliaferri, 87, of Methuen passed away peacefully while visiting his family in Italy on September 6, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Teresa (Buonanno) Tagliaferri with whom he shared a loving marriage for nearly fifty-seven years.

Born in Colli A Volturno, Italy, he was the devoted son of David and Pietrina (Ciccone) Tagliaferri and the eldest of eleven siblings.

In 1956, he came from Italy to Lawrence, MA where he resided for many years until moving to Methuen. He was a highly-skilled mason who for over 35 years was employed in the construction and masonry industry. He worked as the Lead Foreman for the Perini Construction Company in Boston, MA, ran his own Masonry Company and was later employed by the Raytheon Company for 20 years until his retirement.

Vincenzo was a long-time communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence and a member of the Sons of Italy in Methuen. He was a kind person, in his words and actions, a loyal friend and a good man whose life centered around faith and family.

He enjoyed a life-long passion for soccer, having played as a goalkeeper for the Columbo Soccer Club of Lawrence. He occupied his time with home improvement projects for himself and others, found particular delight in spending time with his friends and family and, in recent years, was blessed to be in the constant company of his adoring nine grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Rita P. Sciacca and her husband Joseph, David A. Tagliaferri and his wife, Carol and Elio Tagliaferri and his wife, Michelle; and his grandchildren, Dario, Maria, Daniella and Sofia, Isabella, Olivia, Nina, Dante and Lorenzo Tagliaferri.

He was the brother of Angelina Angelone, Maria Incollingo, Emilia Tomeucci, Giuseppina Lavini, Nora Ranieri, Antonio Tagliaferri and Paulo Tagliaferri.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Claudio, Elio and Alfonso Tagliaferri and his wife Laura.

He was the brother-in-law of Guido Buonanno and his wife Antonietta, Vincent Buonanno, and the late Valentino and Iride Buonanno, the late Fiorenza Alla and the late Dora and Joseph Giuffrida.

He leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews and relatives both locally and in Italy. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visiting hour from 8:15 – 9:15 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.
