Vincent C. Manzi Jr.
January 24, 1949 ~ April 4, 2018 (age 69) 69 Years Old
Vincent Charles Manzi, Jr., Attorney-at-Law, 69, of West Newbury, MA, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Atty. Vincent C. and Rita A. (Watson) Manzi.
Vincent attended Central Catholic High School, graduated from Villanova University, and went on to Suffolk University Law School, where he met his wife, the Honorable Mary McCauley Manzi (ret.). After graduating in 1974, Vincent began his legal career by entering into general practice with his father, Atty. Vincent Charles Manzi, his brother, Michael Manzi, and his wife, Mary. His general practice evolved into one focused on real estate development, corporate representation, and commercial financing. In 1986, Governor Michael Dukakis appointed Vincent as an Officer and Director of the Massachusetts Housing Partnership Fund Board, a position he held for thirty-two years before rising to the position of Chairman in 2018. In addition to the Massachusetts Housing Partnership, Vincent was a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program. Previous Board affiliations included the Merrimack Valley YMCA, Board of Directors of Central Catholic High School, Board of Directors of Lawrence General Hospital, Treasurer of the Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, and Co-Chair of the Merrimack Valley Economic Development Council.
Vinnie loved to fish, hunt, play and watch sports of every kind, particularly the New England Patriots and Villanova Wildcats. He was a dedicated youth sports coach, spending nearly every season coaching his two sons and many other young athletes in baseball, football, and basketball.
He was predeceased by his sister, Rita (Manzi) Fauliso, M.D.; brother, Atty. Michael Manzi; brother-in-law, Dr. George A. Robitaille; and his brother-in-law, Dr. Richard J. Fauliso. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, the Honorable Mary McCauley Manzi (ret.); son, Vincent Charles Manzi, III and his wife, Su M. Manzi; son, Matthew McCauley Manzi and his partner, Kristin M. Kotewicz, PhD.; sister, Claire M. Robataille; aunt, Anna Manzi Tulley; uncle, Michael Manzi, Jr.; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen, MA. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Monday, April 9th at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
