Ursula Gabryjelski

Ursula (Strokosz) Gabryjelski, 70, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2021, after a courageous battle with COVID-19. She was the wife of Stanley Gabryjelski, with whom she shared forty-eight wonderful years in marriage.

Born and raised in Poland, the daughter of the late Longina (Zawadka) and Teofil Strokosz, Ursula immigrated to the United States as a teenager. She was self-employed in the home furnishings industry and was also well known as a tax preparer.

In her free time, Ursula enjoyed everything from skiing with her children, parasailing, ballroom dancing, cooking with the family, and traveling. She had a wild sprit and was always up for anything…any adventure. A plaque she received for Christmas one-year still hangs in the house and describes her approach beautifully, “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "Wow!” What a Ride!”

Ursula was predeceased by her parents, Longina and Teofil Strokosz; and her sister, Irene (Strokosz) Yebba.

In addition to her husband, Stanley, she is survived by her children, Mark Gabryjelski and his girlfriend Bridget Dunphy of Salem, NH, Henry Gabryjelski and his wife Anne of Sammamish, WA, Diane Gabryjelski and her husband Bawa Singh of Delhi, India; grandchildren, Simon, Peter, Charlotte, and Antonella; sibling, Margaret (Strokosz) McEachern; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 PM with a service at 7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA.
