Tommasina M. Grillo

Tommasina M. (Savastano) Grillo, 102, of Plaistow, NH, passed away November 24, 2021 at Lawrence General Hospital.  Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Crescenzo and Cristina (Miele) Savastano.
 
Tommasina attended schools in Lawrence, MA where she was raised and lived for the greater part of her life before moving to Plaistow, NH.  She was part of the family business, the legendary Savastano’s Catering and Restaurant, until its closing in the mid 70’s. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church and St. Rita’s Sodality.  Known by many as Nana T. or Tommy, she was the quintessential Italian grandmother who enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing- especially for her great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was to have those she loved surrounding a table to enjoy a meal together. 
 
Tommasina was predeceased by her husband, Mario J. Grillo; her daughter, Lucy Trepanier and son-in-law Maurice; her siblings, Harry and Ralph Savastano, Lucy Zompa, Julia Messina, Florence Grande, Anna Muraca, Carmela “Snookie” Savastano, and Rita Piccirillo; and her son-in-law Jeremi Chylinski.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Camille Chylinski of Plaistow, NH; her sister, Modestina “Tootsie” Ferraro of Methuen; her grandchildren, Kristina Clark and her husband William of Bradford, Jeremi Chylinski of New York City, and Diana Chylinski of Andover; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander, Joshua, and Natalia Clark, Jeremi and James Chylinski, and Stella Hightower.  She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
 
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Noon) at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
