Thomas A. Spinella, Sr.

Thomas A. Spinella, Sr., 74, of Methuen, MA, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020, after a long and beautiful life. He was born in Norwood, MA on February 7, 1946 to the late Anthony and Sabina Spinella.

After Thomas graduated from High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was ranked a Sergeant. He was very proud of his service as he would often tell his family. Upon honorable discharge, Tom worked as a Carpenter. He loved cooking, most especially cooking for his family and friends, carpentry, wood working, working on cars, competitive pistol shooting, and spending as much time possible with his family.

Tom had a tremendous sense of humor - he was a very funny man! He was one of the few people that everyone remembers and always have a humorous story to tell about him.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jill F. (Cummings) Spinella; and brother, Francis A. Spinella.

He is survived by his loving sons, Anthony J. Spinella, and Thomas A. Spinella, Jr., both of Methuen; siblings, Robert A. Spinella and his wife, Antoinette of Reading, and John A. Spinella and his wife, Cheryl of Malden. Thomas had a very close relationship with his nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He will always be remembered as the patriarch and host to priceless family gatherings.

A proper obituary for Tom would take pages, the family would like to take this time to say that this special person will be greatly missed - his whole life revolved around his family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St, Methuen. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
