Retired Methuen Police Officer, Thomas F. McMenamon, Sr., 70, of Methuen passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 in Boston. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Bernard and Shirley (Giles) McMenamon.
Tom was a graduate of Tenney High School in Methuen. After graduation, he joined the US Air Force and served for four years. He retired as a detective from the Methuen Police Department after thirty-two years of service. Following his retirement, Tom worked for Walden Security at the Federal Court House in Boston.
An avid golfer, Tom was a member of the Hickory Hill Golf Club. He was meticulous about his lawn and enjoyed trips to Aruba. His pride and joy was his grandchildren and family.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (Gebala) McMenamon; his sons, Brad McMenamon and Thomas McMenamon, Jr. and his wife, Kara, all of Methuen; his brother, Richard McMenamon of Northwood, NH; his cherished grandchildren, Noah Thomas and Finn Walter; and his mother-in-law, Antoinette (Cataldo) Gebala of Methuen.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street in Methuen.
