Theresa Ann Lynch

Theresa Ann (Hardacre) Lynch, age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2020, after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Lynch who passed away in 1995. Born in Lawrence, MA, on May 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Hartung) and Henry V. Hardacre, Sr.

A lifelong Methuen resident, Theresa was a graduate of Edward F. Searles High School, class of 1946. She was employed at the Massachusetts Employment Office prior to her marriage in 1957 to Robert. The couple shared thirty-seven happy years together, until his passing. She enjoyed doing word puzzles, watching TV, listening to music, feeding and watching birds and was an avid sports fan of all Boston teams. Theresa was a kind and compassionate person who always put the needs of others first and was always willing to help others when needed. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be sadly missed and forever loved.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Kathleen, with whom she lived; her daughter, Mary Ellen Geraghty and her husband John; and granddaughter, Lauren, all of Methuen. She is also survived by her sister, Anne Harmisch of Newburyport; her niece, Susan Mercier and her husband Joel of Amesbury; and grandniece, Jennifer Mercier of Amesbury.

She was predeceased by her infant son, Michael Lynch; brother, Henry V. Hardacre, Jr. and his wife Carole; and her favorite pet, “Star.”

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no public calling hours. A service will be held at the graveside on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St Mary – Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. A memorial mass for Theresa will be celebrated at a later time. Memorial contributions in Theresa’s memory may be made to the Salem Animal Rescue League, 4 SARL Drive, Salem, NH 03079, or to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
