Theodore J. “Ted” Swift, 86 of Cave Creek, AZ and formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Helen Marie (Craig) Swift, with whom he shared sixty-four wonderful years in marriage.
Born, raised, and educated in Lawrence, the son of the late Elizabeth C. (O’Neil) and Theodore A. Swift, Ted was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1953. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean conflict until his Honorable discharge in 1957.

Upon his return home, Ted received a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from Boston University and his Master’s Degree in Government from the University of Massachusetts. He soon relocated to Schenectady, NY and accepted a position in advertising at General Electric Company. Ted then took a position in Advertising and Sales Promotion at Intermedics Medical Industry in Texas. Ultimately, he enjoyed a wonderful twenty-nine year career and retired as the Vice-President of Corporate Relations with Intermedics.

In his free time, Ted enjoyed all things sports; he enjoyed watching the Red Sox play and the New England Patriots games, and spending time at Rockingham Park. However most of all, he had a passion for playing golf and was a member of the Rio Verde Country Club in Rio Verde, AZ. Ted enjoyed any time spent with his family, especially his grand-children and great-grandchildren, whom he loved so much.

In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his son, Todd “T.J.” Swift.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Swift and his wife Betsy of Fountain Hills, AZ, Scott Swift and his wife Mary of Scottsdale, AZ, Timothy Swift of Tempe, AZ; daughter-in-law, Tammy Swift of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Augustine J. “Gus” Swift and his wife Jeannette “Jackie” of Dracut, MA; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
