Susan Hovanasian, 96, of Middleton, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Ledgewood Rehabilitation Center in Beverly, MA, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Lawrence, MA, Susan was the daughter of Mario and Antonetta (Miele) Petteruti. She was a graduate of Searles High School in Methuen and attended the McIntosh Business School in Lawrence for two years. Following graduation, she worked in the financial office of Meadowbrook Laundry in North Andover, MA, and went on to proudly serve our country by training in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII.
Besides embracing her roles as a wife and mother, Susan enjoyed volunteering. While living in Delhi, NY, she served as secretary for the local Girl Scouts and Brownies Troops and was a member of the V.N.A. She later became Vice President of the Ladies Guild and Village Improvement Society and taught CCD classes in several churches for four years.
While living in Hamilton, MA, Susan continued to volunteer and assisted the librarians at the regional high school and became actively involved with the local Committee for Special Events.
Susan is survived by her devoted daughter, Charlene Hovanasian of Middleton, and several loving relatives.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Henry Hovanasian; her daughter, Karen L. Hovanasian; and her son, Henry B. Kasper Hovanasian.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Renee Muse, Susan’s personal care attendant, who displayed exceptional concern and compassion for Susan.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.
