Silvio Francis Laorenza
October 24, 1923 ~ February 5, 2020 (age 96) 96 Years Old
Silvio F. Laorenza, 96, a long-time Lawrence resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Alfia J. Laorenza, with whom he shared seventy-four wonderful years in marriage.
The son of the late Sabatino and Onesta (Grande) Laorenza, Silvio was born and raised in Lawrence. He attended Lawrence High School before going to work at Malden Mills.
An outgoing person, Silvio loved to surround himself with his family and friends. He enjoyed dancing, playing the harmonica and spoons, watching the Boston Red Sox, playing cards, and loved both horse and dog racing.
Silvio was predeceased by his children, Onesta “Cookie” Riccio and Michael Laorenza.
In addition to his wife Alfia, Silvio is survived by his children, Joyce Rozzi and her husband Ernest, and David Laorenza and his wife Pamela; son-in-law, Frederick Riccio; grandchildren: Dena Riccio-Enis and her husband John, Frederick Riccio and his wife Tiffany, Michael Laorenza and his wife Kimberly, Ernie Rozzi and his wife Melissa, Eric Rozzi and his fiancé Dani, Nicole Tilbe and her wife CT, and Dominic Laorenza; step-grandchildren: Matt and Alex Neubert; great-grandchildren: Candice von Ouhl, Lindsie Laorenza, Anthony Laorenza, Frederick Riccio, Dante Riccio, Vincent Riccio, Salvatore Riccio, Anthony Enis, and Jonathan Rozzi; great-great-grandchildren: Aleena and Giorgi Rosario; and many nieces and nephews.
With the assistance of the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen, Silvio’s family will hold services in private at their convenience.
