Shirley Ann Fontaine
March 10, 1936 ~ August 15, 2021 (age 85) 85 Years Old
Shirley Ann Fontaine, 85, of Kingston, NH, formerly of Salem, MA, passed away at home on Sunday, August 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 10, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Emily (Melucci) Calderone.
Born and raised in Methuen, MA, Shirley graduated from Methuen High and started her family with the love of her life, Gilbert J. Fontaine, Jr. Being the caring woman she was, Shirley was a devoted homemaker who raised her children. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Vegas and Foxwoods, always being the life of the party. Shirley loved to help others, she was very active at both Andover and Atkinson Senior Citizen Centers. Her favorite hobbies and passions included dancing and singing. Shirley was involved in a singing group, and danced with the Sunset Tappers in Andover. She also enjoyed ball-room and line-dancing.
Along with her parents, Shirley was pre-deceased by her brothers, Anthony Calderone, Ernest Calderone; her sister, Delores D’errico; and her brothers-in-law, Jimmy D’errico and Tony Norcia.
Shirley will be deeply missed and is survived by her children, Gil Fontaine and his fiancé Patricia Richardson of Salem, MA, April Fontaine-Mulligan and her husband Patrick Mulligan of Portsmouth, NH, Jim Fontaine and his wife Kerry of Sandown, NH, and Paul Fontaine and his wife Terry of Middleton, MA. She is also survived by her siblings, Rosie Norcia of Methuen, MA, Beverly MacNamara and her husband Jim of Lawrence, MA, Juney Patton and her husband Wayne of California; grandchildren, Jimmy, Ryan, Chris, Glenn, Ariel, Chad, Emily, Sean, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Kagen, Jimmy, Harper, Easton, Aubrey, Carson, and Tatum; and sisters-in-law, Pat Calderone of Salem, NH and Dottie Calderone of Methuen, MA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, August 23, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen, MA. A funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Luke the Evangelist Parish in Newton, NH. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Kingston, NH.
