Sheila A. Batal

Sheila A. (Molloy) Batal, 72, of Methuen passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at High Pointe House with her family by her side. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late John and Nora (Soroghan) Molloy.

Sheila was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1965. She retired after 35 years from Rite-Aid, formerly Osco Drug, where she worked as an over the counter clerk. She loved to spend summers at the beach and Parker River. She was a world traveler, avid gardener and volunteered at pop warner and the Boy Scouts. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Parkland Medical Center and High Pointe House for their compassionate care.

Sheila is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Joseph E. Batal, Jr.; her children, John J. Batal and his wife, Jeri-an of Methuen, and Shannon Batal-McCabe and her husband, Shawn of Goffstown, NH; sister, Janice Farrell of Salisbury Beach; brother, Richard Molloy and his wife, Ann of Chelmsford; and grandchildren, Zachary, Alexis, and Joseph Batal, Morgan and Kendall McCabe. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen.
