Sayde Patel

Sayde Patel, 57, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019, following a long, hard-fought battle with breast cancer. Her unwavering courage and positive attitude inspired patients, doctors and nurses so much that she was featured in a recent Dana Farber calendar. Sayde’s upbeat spirit in the face of steep health challenges was truly amazing.

Born and raised in Zahle, Lebanon, Sayde arrived in the United States in 1980. She married Vimal in March of 1989. Her greatest joys and source of pride were her husband of thirty years Vimal and sons Matthew and Jonathan, and constant companion as of late, Stella her loyal Shih Tzu. She loved her Friday visits from her adopted family as well as the daily phone calls from her close cousins.

Sayde was a fabulous cook and gardener, providing family and friends with Lebanese dishes second to none. She loved to share success stories of her sons and travel to Lebanon and tropical vacation spots with her biggest fan, Vimal.

After earning an associate’s degree in accounting, Sayde worked as the office manager and bookkeeper at Yankee Warehouse in Lawrence.

Pre-deceased by her parents Joseph and Marie Lteif, Sayde is survived by sisters Hayat and Fadia Lteif and Maha Chickani; husband Vimal; sons Matthew and Jonathan as well as several in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, October 18, 2019, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at St. Anthony Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury Street in Lawrence. Burial will be in the United Lebanese Cemetery, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at dana-farber.org.
