Sayde (Samaha) Elkache, 92, of Andover, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 28, 2021, at her residence. She was born in a beautiful town in Mount Lebanon called Khenchara to Youssef and Saiide Samaha. She immigrated to the United States with her family in the mid 80’s, escaping a civil war and leaving behind family and friends. She was the wife of the late Anwar G. Elkache.
Sayde is survived by her children, Samia Nasr and husband Eid Nasr of Methuen, Jaqueline Elkache, and Randa Elkache, both of Andover; and daughter-in-law, Mariam Ash of Boston.
She was predeceased by her son, Sami Ash; siblings, George, Alexander, and Chafica.
Sayde had the fortune to enjoy her grandchildren and a greatgrandson as well. She was a loving and caring mother and she will be mostly missed for her wisdom and her sense of humor. She inspired us all for her strength and intelligence in dealing with all issues. Her passing will leave a big void in our lives that can only be filled with happy, beautiful memories.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 241 Hampshire Street in Lawrence. Burial will follow at the United Lebanese Cemetery in Lawrence.
