Tribute

Saundra T. (Troisi) Stewart, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at home. She was the wife of Edward M. Stewart, Sr., with whom she shared forty-six wonderful years in marriage.

The daughter of the late Emelio and Mary (Hatem) Troisi, Saundra was born in Lowell. After graduating from Our Lady of Nazareth Academy High School, she went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, and later received a Master’s Degree in Education from Cambridge College. Early in her career, she was an assistant professor at Harvard University and later dedicated her career in the Catholic school system, serving both as an educator and as principal.

Saundra first met Edward in April of 1972 and they were married in May of 1974. Initially, they settled in Seabrook, NH and then in Andover, MA for twenty-eight years. As they approached retirement, they returned to Seabrook until 2020, when they moved to Amesbury, MA.

Always enjoying being surrounded by people, Saundra loved to keep busy with work and volunteering in the school system, an environment that brought her so much joy since she loved to help children. When not at work, she loved to shop, to be an active member of her church, and to volunteer as much as possible. A truly great cook, Saundra enjoyed preparing meals for her family and social gatherings that she and Edward hosted over the years. She simply loved being surrounded by those who meant so much to her, especially her family. Seabrook Beach was a place where she could recharge herself with long walks either alone or with her granddaughters. In her retirement, Saundra felt blessed to have been able provide care for the girls. This time created a special bond that truly warmed her heart.

Saundra will be greatly missed by her husband, Edward; her son, Edward M. Stewart, Jr. and his wife Erin of North Andover; granddaughters, Lauren and Allison Stewart; sister, Maria Gallagher and her husband David of Hampton Falls, NH; niece, Jennifer; and nephew, John. In addition, she will also be greatly missed by many Brother in Laws, Sisters in Laws, Nieces and Nephews as well as close friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation between 4:00 -7:00 PM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA.
