Samuel James Maranto, 88, of Methuen, MA, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November, 5, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved son of the late James and Clara (Lattore) Maranto, he was born in Lawrence, MA, on October 29, 1932.  
 
Raised and educated in Methuen MA, Samuel met his high school sweetheart, Rosemarie, with whom he shared sixty-eight wonderful years of marriage. He worked at Raytheon as a design engineer and loved to work outside in his yard. He was known to be a great handyman and always kept busy building and doing projects around the house and for family and friends. Samuel loved being with his family, and always looked forward to Sunday dinners, cookouts, and holidays.  
 
Along with his parents, Samuel was predeceased by his daughter, Donna Wolfendale; sister, Claire Tombarello, and her husband John Tombarello.  
 
Samuel will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (DiGloria) Maranto; his son, James Maranto and his wife, Mary Ann of Methuen, MA; brother, James Maranto and his wife, Joyce of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Ashley Wolfendale, Brian Wolfendale, Sherry Anderson, and Steven Gofstein; along with great-grandchildren, Douglas, Robert, and Colton Anderson; son-in-law, Brian Wolfendale; and several nieces and nephews.  
 
The Maranto family would like to thank Merrimack Valley Hospice for their kind help and dedication.  
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, November, 12, 2020, from 10:00-12:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. In lieu of flowers, donations in Samuel’s memory may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA, 01843. The family respectfully requests that all attendees follow current Covid-19 guidance, including face coverings, social distancing, and refraining from any contact.
