Samuel S. Girgenti
February 8, 1943 ~ May 14, 2022 (age 79) 79 Years Old
Samuel S. Girgenti, of Hampstead, NH and North Port, FL, passed away peacefully in Florida on May 14, 2022, after a long illness. Throughout this time, he faced each day with courage. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Sam was the son of Salvatore and Ann (DiPrima) Girgenti of North Andover, MA. He was a graduate of North Andover High School and attended UMass Lowell. He worked in industrial wastewater treatment/environmental safety for many years.
A proud veteran, Samuel served as a Vietnam era veteran in the Navy Seabee unit.
Sam had many interests but most of all he was a Corvette enthusiast and was a member of the Spindle City Corvette Club for many years. During that time, he made many friends and enjoyed trips, car shows and other events sponsored by the club.
Other interests for Sam were camping, golfing, being at the beach and socializing with friends and family. He loved the time he spent in Maine camping at Old Orchard Beach. He also loved the winters he spent in North Port, FL. He couldn’t wait to get on that plane and fly into the Florida sunshine. Sam participated in a variety of social activities in the community and developed many lifelong friendships.
Sam leaves his wife of 52 years, Geraldine “Gerri” (Sanzo) Girgenti; his son, Bryan Girgenti and his wife Karina of Lake Mary, FL; his daughter Jennifer Delaney and her husband Patrick of Methuen; his brother, David Girgenti and his wife Sheila of Georgia; his beloved grandchildren, Andrew and Anna Kate Girgenti of Lake Mary, FL, and Ryan, Tyler, and Sophie Delaney of Methuen; as well as several nieces and nephews. He leaves many cousins whom he loved dearly and enjoyed a special relationship with.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Peasant Valley Street, Methuen.
