Samuel G. Amante

Samuel G. Amante, age 76, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 with his family at his side. Born February 18, 1943, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Phyllis (Perruccio) Amante.

Born, raised, and educated in Lawrence, Samuel graduated from Lawrence High School in 1955 and later received his certification for the New England School of Barbering. It was not long before he became respected in his industry as his talent was very evident. Samuel enjoyed working in Brookline, MA for many years up to his retirement, enjoying the many clients who came to trust him, perhaps most proud to be the personal barber to many such as the Celtics great, John Havlicek. Upon retirement from his successful career, Samuel went to work for the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department.

Never one to be idle for long, Samuel enjoyed golf and recently was employed at the Merrimack Country Club, where he enjoyed to spend much of his time. He enjoyed watching all New England Sports Franchises and surrounding himself with the good company of his family and friends.

Samuel is survived by his children, Anthony Amante of Keller, TX, Christine Olofson of Keller, TX, Matt Miele and his wife, Danielle, of North Andover, MA; grandchildren, Trinity, Genevieve, Savanah, Hudson, Abra, Scott, Davy, Adam, Cameron; brother, Joseph Amante of Rochester, NH, niece Sharon Tovey, and many cousins and close friends. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Nicole Volmer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass for Samuel at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex Street, Lawrence, MA.
