Dr. Sabatino J. Pitocchelli passed away at the age 81, after a short illness. He was born in Haverhill, MA and raised in Lawrence, MA and was the son of the late Guido Pitocchelli and Concetta nee Coppola Pitocchelli.
A graduate from Tufts Dental School in Boston, Dr. Pitocchelli then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as Captain in the Dental Corps and was stationed at Fort Meade, MD. Upon discharge, he served another two years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Dr. Pitocchelli was married for fifty-nine years to Elaine nee Terrault Pitocchelli. They had four children together, Sabatino (Sammy) Pitocchelli, married to Giselle, Jeffrey Pitocchelli, married to Tracy, Eric John Pitocchelli, married to Kathy, and Amy nee Pitocchelli Foley, married to Kevin Foley. His grandchildren include, Jessica, Christopher, Alexander, Michael, Abigail, Olivia, and Emma. Dr. Pitocchelli also leaves one great-grandchild, Arabella. They will all deeply and lovingly miss their grandfather.
Dr. Pitochelli opened his dental practice in Lawrence. He professionally and faithfully served his patients for fifty-four years. Practicing dentistry was a labor of love, which he performed with the utmost care of his patients. His child patients frequently fell asleep as he made them feel so unafraid and relaxed under his care. Even Dr. Pitocchelli’s grandchildren saw their dental trips to Grampy as a way to spend time with him.
He is and will continue to be greatly missed by his wife, Elaine, children, and grandchildren. He adored his great-grandchild, Arabella, and wished he would see her and all his grandchildren grow and pass all of their milestones in life. They will miss his considerable supply of zany jokes that would have them giggling and poking his shoulders, “Oh, Grampy.”
