Rosemary L. Vasquez

Rosemary L. Vasquez, 46, of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020, after a brief illness at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.  She was the daughter of Guillermo and Yomara (Paredes) Vasquez. 

 Born and raised in Lawrence, Rosemary graduated from St. Mary’s High School, class of 1991, and further received a Master’s Degree in Psychology from UMass Lowell in 2007.  
 
With just sheer will, she overcame so much physical adversity in her life & achieved so much. Ultimately devoting herself to a profession in clinical psychology and helping those in need of counseling, therapy, addiction & mental health treatments - basically those in need of understanding & love. She loved her work at Beth Israel Lahey Health and Behavioral Services. 

Rosemary was a very outgoing person who enjoyed the company of all those around her and was happiest when she could be of help.  She will be remembered for her love of music, sports, shopping and being in the sun.  Graced with a vibrant personality, affirmed by those near her, that she enjoyed their presence and company.  She was most happy when she was able to help others, always looking to help ease the burden of those who would accept her support.  She also enjoyed to travel, especially her recent trip with her family to Switzerland and Germany.  She will most be remembered for her love of dogs, especially her Venus and Apollo. 

In addition to her parents, Rosemary is survived by her siblings, William G. Vasquez and his wife Lora M. of Andover, MA, John R. Vasquez of Haverhill, MA, Diana J. Rose of Dracut, MA; nephew, Joshua A. Vasquez of Lawrence, MA; as well as many aunts and uncles. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at St. Augustine Chapel of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 128 Ames Street, Lawrence, MA.  Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosemary’s memory may be made to MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
