Rosalie R. Ambra

Rosalie R. (Paleno) Ambra, age 92, a longtime Lawrence, MA resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at High Point House in Haverhill, MA. Her son Sam was at her side. She was the wife of the late Salvatore J. Ambra, Sr., with whom she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage.
The daughter of the late Alfred and Anna (Fuoco) Paleno, Rosalie was born, raised, and educated in Methuen, MA.

Rose’s most important role in life was to be a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She excelled at all four callings. She provided her family with memorable Sunday dinners and family times. She enjoyed family reunions at Rye Harbor, knitting, and leaving each family member with an amazing, warm afghan.

Rosalie was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Aleksa. She is survived by her two sons, Salvatore J. Ambra, Jr. and his wife Michele of Haverhill and Michael A. Ambra and his wife Lauren of Methuen; grandchildren, Stephen Ambra and his wife Rebecca, Alyssa and her husband Fred Clark, Michael Ambra and his wife Erica, and Nicholas Ambra and his wife Laura; great-grandchildren, Ellie Clark, Emily and Luca Ambra and Gianna Rose Ambra. Rose is also survived by a brother, Alfred Paleno.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation hours from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at St. Theresa Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen. All are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow in St. Mary–Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
