Ronald F. Guilmette, 52, of Methuen passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Methuen MA on November 13, 1964 and raised in Lawrence, MA, he attended Lawrence schools and graduated from Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical High School from the Distributive Education Program in 1982.
In 1979, he began a long career working for the DeMoulas family at many of their stores in the Merrimack Valley until illness ended his career in 2004. During that time, he made many loving and caring friends who have stuck by him for the past 13 years.
Ron was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed going to Red Sox vs Yankees games in the Bronx with the guys from Market Basket.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Ronald Guilmette and Marie (Vanderstuyf) Guilmette and brothers, Rene and Robert Guilmette.
He is survived by his brothers, Richard and Norman Guilmette, both of Methuen MA, David Guilmette and his husband Doug Cushman of Atkinson, NH, brother-in-law, Alan Renny and wife Carla of Salem, NH, and sister-in-law, Ellen Razon of Haverhill, MA. He also leaves behind four nieces and one nephew, Megan, Bryan and Amanda Renny, Reinee Guilmette and Michaela Waterman.
Ron’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Bradford MA, who cared for Ron on many occasions in the past 13 years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made in his memory to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St. building 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
