Roberta E. Young

Roberta E. (Hewett) Young, 79, of Seabrook, NH, formerly of Methuen, passed away surrounded by her loving family Friday, October 19, 2018 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, NH. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rita (Hart) Hewett.

Raised in Methuen, Roberta was a graduate of Tenney High School, class of 1957. On November 9, 1957, she married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Young. She became a homemaker tending to her family’s needs first and foremost. She was dedicated to her family and her loved ones. Roberta also enjoyed playing Keno, trips to the mountains in NH, especially trips to Vegas, which she had the opportunity to do four times, and mostly spending as much time possible with her loved ones, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was affectionate, kind hearted, and very social. She will be remembered by her favorite saying, “That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”

She is predeceased by her sister, Claire Berger; and sister-in-law, Chris Young.

Roberta is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, Richard W. Young of Seabrook, NH; son, Richard “Rick” Young and his wife, Lisa of Methuen; brothers-in-law, Harry Young and his wife, Pauline, Tom Young and his wife, Phyllis, and Charles Berger; grandchildren, Jeffrey and his wife, Michelle, Samantha and her husband, Erik, and Ashley; and five great-grandchildren, Liam, Jayden, Bryanna, Elliana, and Mackenna. She was also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be offered on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 9:00 AM at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street in Methuen. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill.
