Robert E. McAvoy, 82, of Methuen passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. He was born in Methuen and was the son of the late Daniel and Sally (Jurkevicz) McAvoy.
Robert was raised and educated in Methuen and was a graduate of Tenney High School. He was employed as an automotive mechanic for forty-two years and retired from Merrimack Valley Tire in Haverhill.
Robert was predeceased by his wife, Norma Ann (Rusnak) McAvoy, and his brother, William McAvoy.
He is survived by his son, Richard McAvoy and his wife Pamela of Wells, ME; daughters, Sharon Campbell and her husband Wayne of Somersworth, NH and Roberta Gaudes and her husband Ernest of Jefferson, NH; brother, Daniel McAvoy and his wife Ruth of Methuen. He also leaves several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.
