Robert J. Loughlin

Robert J. Loughlin, 85, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Lawrence General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Annie M. Loughlin, the love of his life, who passed away in 2019.

Born and raised in Lawrence, Robert graduated from Central Catholic School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. While in the Army he was stationed in Iceland during the Vietnam War era. He worked for many years as a laborer for the state of Massachusetts where enjoyed many friendships over the years.

An avid sports enthusiast, Robert loved all sports, especially the Yankees. He was a man with a deep religious Catholic faith and was dedicated to praying the Rosary. Robert enjoyed going to the beach, especially to the Gulf Shores of Alabama where he spent the winters with his beloved wife Annie.

A devoted and loving family man, he shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. A special thanks to the Dixon family for their care and kindness shown to Bob and Annie over the years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his brother, William J. Loughlin of Lawrence; sister, Mary R. Henrick of Methuen; nephews, William and Lisa Henrick of Haverhill, Kenneth and Cheryl Henrick of Newburyport, Timothy and Paula Henrick of Methuen, Michael and Beth Henrick of Methuen, Brian and Courtney Henrick of Milton, Daniel and Janice Loughlin of Methuen, and Kevin and Maureen Loughlin of Andover; niece, Kathy Loughlin of Lawrence; great-niece and nephew, Erin and Sean Henrick, who were like grandchildren to him and many other great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass with be held on Monday, March 29, 2021, at 11:00 AM in St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen, MA. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lawrence.
