Robert James Gaudet, 82, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at his Methuen, MA, home peacefully with his family by his side. He was born in Cambridge, MA to Philip and Frances Gaudet.
Robert’s favorite childhood memories were fishing with his father on the Pier in Gloucester and going on outings every weekend to the beach with his mother and siblings. He also enjoyed spending a great deal of time at Nubble Light in York Beach, ME. He left home at 17 years old and enrolled in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and is honored to this day as a retired Veteran. Robert later attended Merrimack College in studied Phycology for two years.
Robert married Carol Gradozzi on July 3, 1960, and although the marriage lasted 10 years, they remained devoted lifelong friends.
Robert was employed in the auto industry as a car salesman and worked his way to the top where he became a General Manager. He received multiple awards for outstanding Automotive Sales Achievement.
Robert is survived by four loving daughters: Kathleen, Linda, Leighann, and Tracy; his sister, Mary and her husband Dennis Sinclair; and his baby brother, Larry Gaudet. He is also survived by 17 loving grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephews.
"Buddy Boy" is survived by his dearest, close lifelong friends: Mike, George, Big Richie, Dave, Danny, and many many more.
Robert was protected by his devoted canine companion, "Marley" who brought him much comfort and friendship and never left his side.
He was preceded in death by dearest loving daughter, Stacey Gaudet; brother, Philip Gaudet; his "daredevil" nephew, Bruce Sinclair and his buddy-boy, Kenny Lo Piano.
Dad will especially be remember for his beautiful giving heart, all his wonderful stories and his strong spirit that strengthened everyone he met.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating; hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, from 9:00-11:00 AM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen, MA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica, MA.
