Robert J. Brouder, 59, of Sandown, NH passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019. He was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Robert and Cecelia (Devlin) Brouder.
Raised in Lawrence, Bob was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Tufts University. He was employed as a mechanical engineer for many years before becoming disabled due to illness.
Bob was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of St. Lucy Church in Methuen. He taught CCD, served on the altar, and was a Eucharistic Minister. He also received the Chevrus Award for service to the church from the Archdiocese of Boston.
An avid woodworker, Bob also enjoyed building model boats to scale and one of his boats is displayed at Bunker Hill in Boston. He was a member and past president of the Sandown Historical Society and was a member of the Minute Men.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl (Prue) Brouder; children, Robert A. Brouder and his fiancée, Amanda Duszak of Derry, NH and Desiree Schenk and her husband, Jonathan, of Sandown, NH, and his grandchildren, Eric O’Neil, Evelynn and Tessa Schenk.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 4:00-8:00 PM at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 16, 2019 in the church. Private burial will be in Center Cemetery, Sandown, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen, MA 01844.
