Rita M. Rozumek

Rita M. Rozumek, 91, of Hampton, NH passed away on May 14, 2022, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital
surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 17, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Lea LaCroix of Quebec, Canada.

Rita epitomized the definition of “Grandma.” She had an unending love of her entire family and taught each and every one of them love, respect, compassion, honesty, and a work ethic that was second to none. She loved helping people, always had a million-dollar smile, and brightened the lives of all she touched. Her infectious good nature enhanced the lives of everyone she encountered.

For close to 20 years, Rita worked as a baker in the family operated supermarket business. She loved to cook!! She so enjoyed working with her immediate family in the supermarket over all those years.

Rita had a passion for traveling to Maui with her late husband Ed for over 35 years. She loved the Hawaiian culture and made many new friends there who became her Ohana forever.

After her husband’s passing in 2019, Rita moved to Cornerstone at Hampton senior living residence where she enjoyed the final years of her life with many new friends and the wonderful care from the staff at Cornerstone.

She is survived by her sons, Bob and his wife Madeleine of Hampton, NH, Michael and his wife Elaine of Portsmouth, NH, and David of Hampton, NH; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Hammock and her husband Wells from Fairhope, AL, Adam Rozumek from Manchester, NH, Ashley Miller and her husband Donnie from Hampton, NH, Nate Amundsen from Newton, MA, Andrew April from Seabrook, NH; and six great-grandchildren whom she absolutely adored.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation on Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 9:00-11:00AM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Peasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
