Dr. Richard J. Stabile

Dr. Richard J. Stabile, 82, of Atkinson, NH, formerly of Haverhill and Methuen, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Boston.  Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Benedetto and Mary (Pandelena) Stabile.
 
Raised in Methuen, Dr. Stabile was a graduate of Searles High School, Lawrence Academy, Northeastern University, and Massachusetts College of Optometry. He practiced optometry in Lawrence before opening his office in Methuen.  He was a member of the American Optometric Association, YMCA of Lawrence, and the Methuen Lions Club.
 
Dr. Stabile is survived by his wife, Mary-Jean (Murdock) Stabile; his sons, Attorney Richard Stabile, Jr., US Air Force, and his wife, Stephanie, and Dr. Jonathan Stabile, US Army and his wife, Shelby.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Victoria, Alexander, Elizabeth and Gabriella; and several nieces and nephews.
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.  His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex Street in Lawrence.  Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
