Richard E. Rogers

Richard (Dick) E. Rogers, 77, a longtime Methuen, MA, resident passed away on Monday, July, 27, 2020, after a courageous ten-year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Mary S. Rogers, with whom he shared fifty-six wonderful years in marriage.

Born and raised in Haverhill,MA, and son of the late Ernest Rogers and Evelyn Howes, Richard graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, received his Bachelor’s Degree from Merrimack College, and his MBA from Suffolk University. He retired as a Controller at Masimo in Hudson, NH.

In 1963, Richard married Mary and settled in Lawrence until they relocated to Methuen in 1995. A true sports enthusiast, Richard enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox, and going to Fenway Park with his son, other family members, and friends. He appreciated getting out on the golf course as much as he could. Richard enjoyed being in the company of others, especially his family, but none more than his grandchildren. Blessed with the ability to entertain, Richard will be most remembered for his kindness and long-lasting relationships.

In addition to his wife, Mary, Richard is survived by his children, Denise M. Rogers of Methuen, David R. Rogers and his partner Nicholas Strickland of Las Vegas, NV, Tracy A. Liptrap and her husband Jeffrey of Salem, NH, Matthew E. Rogers and his wife Renee of Methuen; grandchildren, Haley A. Liptrap, Emma M. Liptrap, Anthony E. Rogers; siblings, Shirley Forrest and her husband Ray of Ventura, CA, Kenny Rogers of Kittery, ME, and Richard Howes of TN.

The Rogers family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Jon Arnason and the staff at Beth Israel-Deaconess BMT clinic for the wonderful care he received throughout the years.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Richard’s family from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, July 30, 202, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 31, 2020, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in St. Mary - Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
