Richard E. Paduchowski

Richard Edwin Paduchowski, Sr., 81, passed peacefully into eternity on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Richard started his life’s journey in Lawrence, MA, as the only child of the late Stella (Zalenski) Paduchowski and Edwin Paduchowski, also of Lawrence. He met his future wife, Jeannette Benoit, while in seventh grade at the John Tarbox School and decided to go steady on November 7, 1949. He graduated from Central Catholic High School, Lawrence, Class of 1954, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, Boston in 1958, the same year he and Jeannette were married on August 24th, at St. Anne’s Church in Lawrence.

After College, Richard went to work for Zanfagna’s and McGovern’s Pharmacy in Lawrence, then at Conlin’s Pharmacy in Methuen, until he purchased his own store, Penn’s Pharmacy in Lawrence, which he owned for twenty-five-plus years. While at Penn’s, Richard served as President of the Greater Lawrence Board of Pharmacy and President of Central Catholic’s Athletic Booster Organization. He was a lifelong lover of golf and an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He and his wife enjoyed watching all Boston sports together and were often seen sporting Celtics and Bruins pajamas and hats. He also enjoyed playing the slot machines at Foxwoods Casino. They enjoyed travelling and sitting on the warm beaches of their favorite place in Aruba for twenty years.

Richard will always be remembered as a loving, caring and gentle man and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of over sixty years, Jeannette A. (Benoit) Paduchowski, and his six children: Allan R. Paduchowski and Carleen (Fischer) Paduchowski (deceased) of Salem, NH, Richard E. Paduchowski, Jr., of Denton, TX, Michael J. Paduchowski and his husband, Jules E. Panaguiton of Londonderry, NH, Diane L. (Paduchowski) Porcelli, of Manchester, NH, Linda S. Paduchowski and her wife, Darlene M. Johnson of Danville, NH, Donna M. (Paduchowski) Griffin and her husband, Stephen L. Porcelli of Londonderry, NH. He also leaves six loving grandchildren: Jeffrey Paduchowski of Salem, NH, Krista A. (Paduchowski) Titone and her wife, Cheryl L. Titone of Danville, NH, Steven Paduchowski of Manchester, NH and his partner, Simon Taing, Zachary Porcelli of Dover, NH, Connor Porcelli of Newport, RI, and Alicia Porcelli of Manchester, NH.

Friends may lovingly call on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.
