Real Taschereau

Real Taschereau, 61, of Haverhill passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 31, 1957 in Plessisville, Canada, the son of Rachel (Garneau) Taschereau and the late Gerard Taschereau.

Real was raised in Canada before settling in Lawrence in 1966. He worked as a manufacturing engineer. He loved life, and his family and friends meant everything to him. His most treasured moments were times spent with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed all sports, most especially football and basketball, wood working, and being surrounded with friends who were like a second family. He had a heart of gold, especially when it came to helping others, and had a great sense of humor. Real was a loving, compassionate, kind man who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Real is survived by his sons, Jason Taschereau and his wife, Jen, and Erick Taschereau, both of Methuen; beloved mother, Rachel (Garneau) Taschereau and stepfather, Bertrand LeBlanc of Methuen; siblings, Sylvie Kelley and her husband, Lacy of Methuen, Alain Taschereau and his wife, Gail of Haverhill, Sylvain Taschereau of Methuen, Diane Townsend and her husband, Al of Methuen, and Denis Taschereau and his wife, Elizabeth of New Durham, NH; two grandchildren, Malcolm and Abigail Taschereau. He also leaves several adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family in Canada, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 29th at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
