Raymond Cyr
November 16, 1930 ~ February 4, 2021 (age 90) 90 Years Old
Raymond Cyr, 90, of North Andover, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA. He was born in Methuen, MA, and was the son of the late Amedee (Medley) Cyr and Sophie (Beaupre) Cyr. Raymond was raised and educated in Lawrence. As a young man he worked at the old Plymouth Mills in Lawrence, before serving during the Korean War as a Communication and also Supply Sergeant in the Army. He then worked as an aircraft mechanic at North American Aviation in California, at Raytheon Company, and later as a mechanical engineer at Avco/Textron.
Staunchly devoted to his late, beloved wife of nearly 64 years, Maryann Alice (Germana) Cyr, Raymond also leaves his son, Gary R. Cyr, of Derry, NH; his daughter, Cheryl M. Lincoln, and her husband, Donald, of West Newbury, MA; and his three grandsons, Connor, Michael, and Brendan Lincoln, also of West Newbury. He was the brother of the late Rita (Cyr) Kibildis, Anita (Cyr) Burke, Cecile (Cyr) Guillmette, and Donald Cyr.
Raymond was first and foremost a family man, a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, who always put family first, wanted the absolute best for them, and did so very much for them throughout his life. He was a good man and a hardworking man, an unfailingly responsible man, with a kind and tender heart and a generous and thoughtful nature. Raymond loved to go out to eat and to travel with his wife, Maryann, and their dearest friends who were like family, John and Jan Johnson of Methuen, with whom they enjoyed many cruises and other fabulous adventures in retirement. We loved him dearly. We will miss him greatly.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of his family.
