Pierre Joseph LeMieux, 85, of Andover, MA died peacefully, Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Pierre was born on April 2, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Louis and Josephine (Gregory) LeMieux. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received a Bachelor of Science degree at Northeastern. Pierre was employed as an electrical engineer at several companies, most recently at B.T.U. Engineering in Billerica, until his retirement.
Pierre was very active in St. Augustine Church in Andover, having served as a Lector for thirty years as well as having served on the School Board and the Parish Council. One of his favorite past times was playing both the tuba and stand-up bass in numerous Dixieland and Jazz bands.
He is survived by his wife Joan (Altobell) LeMieux of Andover, MA, they had just celebrated 60 years of marriage, and his eleven children, Pamela Smith and her husband Paul of North Andover, MA, Peter LeMieux of Salem, NH, Teri Moores of Hollis, NH, Cindy Joyce and her husband Craig of Auburn NH, John LeMieux and his wife Marie of Newington, NH, Tom LeMieux and his wife Mary of Bristol, NH, Linda Bajek and her husband Tom of Londonderry, NH, Lisa LeMieux of Salisbury, MA, Joseph LeMieux of Salisbury, MA, Christine Amen and her husband Tony of Tamarack, FL and Anthony LeMieux and his wife Melissa of Windham, NH. Also among his survivors are his siblings, Fr. Tom LeMieux of Milwaukee, WI, Joseph LeMieux of Brookfield, WI, and Sr. Mary Francisca of Rockford, IL. Pierre was also survived by twenty-one grandchildren: Joshua, Chase, Kasey, Tia, Cody, Cole, Luke, Lena, Michael, Jacob, Adam, Olivia, Grant, T.J., Tim, Brandon, Matt, Isabelle, Ava, Julia, and Brooklyn.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.
A funeral mass will be offered on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street in Andover. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, also in Andover. Those wishing to attend Pierre’s funeral mass are asked to report directly to the church on Monday morning.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society, DaVita Dialysis Center of North Andover, or St. Augustine’s School of Andover.
